I'm not sure of the reason I need to take the course.

Most of our customers need to take this course to satisfy a requirement of a Virginia court or the DMV. If this is the case, your paperwork from the court or DMV should tell you whether or not you are to receive demerit points when you attend the course. Other reasons for attendance include voluntary attendance for insurance discount or safe driver points. Please read the description for each reason code on the first page of registration if you are not sure which reason to choose, or contact us and we will be happy to assist you.

Do you report my completion to the court / DMV?

We report all student completions electronically to the Virginia DMV. We will also send your original certificate of completion to you using the method you select (i.e. electronic delivery, regular mail, or express delivery). Please note that we do not report completions to Virginia courts. If you have been court ordered to attend this course, it is your responsibility to sign your original certificate of completion and turn it in to the court. We recommend that you make a copy of your certificate for your records.

Do I have to attend this course in the county where my ticket was issued?

No. There are no restrictions on where you can take the online course. Please keep in mind, however, that if you have a Virginia driver license, you will need to travel to a Virginia testing center to take your in-person final exam. The Virginia DMV does not allow Virginia residents to take this exam outside the state of Virginia.

Is this course DMV / court approved?

Yes. This 8-hour online Virginia driver improvement clinic is fully approved by the Virginia DMV and is accepted by all Virginia courts.

What score is required to pass the final exam?

A score of at least 80% is required to pass the 50-question final exam. (You are not allowed to miss more than ten questions.) If you fail the exam, you will not be able to attempt it again until the next day. Most customers pass on their first attempt.

What is your refund policy?

To request a refund, you must contact customer support at 1-800-222-9199 between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Refund requests must be made within 90 days from the date of registration. If you successfully complete the course or are disqualified from the course for identity validation or final exam failure, you will not be eligible for a refund.

How do I pay for the course?

You can pay by credit card using our secure online payment form, or you can phone your credit card information to us. Please note you will not be able to begin the course until your payment has been processed.

Can I change my registration information?

You cannot change your registration information while you are in the course. However, after you have completed the course units and before you attempt your final exam, you will be given the opportunity to change the information that will be printed on your certificate. You can also call DTA at 1-800-222-9199 for assistance before you attempt the final exam.

How can I get in touch with a live person?

For fastest service, please call our toll free Virginia customer support number: 1-800-222-9199. You can also send an e-mail to info@ticketschool.com. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time.

Is the course all reading?

No, unlike most Virginia online driver improvement clinics, our course contains high definition video, interactive Flash animations, and hundreds of colorful graphics to keep you interested in the material. Our students prefer this learning style to courses that are 100% reading or videos showing an instructor lecturing for eight hours!

I lost my login code. How can I get it back?

If you lose your login code, go to the course login page. You will see a box that says "I forgot my login." Enter your driver license number in the box and click the "Remind Me" button. Your login code will be sent to the e-mail address you provided when you registered for the course. If you are unable to retrieve your login code, please contact us for assistance.

Why do I have to answer security questions?

During registration, you will be required to answer a number of security questions (e.g. "Have you ever been to Europe?"). You will be asked the same questions again at random points in the course, and you will be required to respond correctly within a certain time. These questions are required by the Virginia DMV to verify that the person taking the course is the same person who signed up for the course. If you miss three security questions, you will be disqualified from the course and prompted to contact us for further instructions.

What is your mailing address?

Our mailing address is Driver Training Associates, 37 3rd St. SW, Suite 210, Winter Haven, FL 33880.

Is the course completely online?

While the eight hours of course content are all online, if you have a Virginia driver license, you are required by the DMV to take your proctored final exam in person at an approved Virginia testing center. DTA has numerous testing centers throughout Virginia.

Why should I take this course online?

The main advantage of taking your course online instead of in a classroom is that you won't have to sit in a class for eight hours straight. You won't have to schedule a day off from work or spend all day Saturday in a driver improvement clinic since the online course can be taken from any location with an internet connection at any time of day.
