This course is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and the Texas Board of Insurance for insurance discount purposes.
Although policies and procedures vary by company, many offer a discount for a three-year period for completing a state approved defensive driving course. Over a three-year period, the savings realized by completing this course far exceed the nominal course fee! Contrary to popular belief, completing the course for insurance discount purposes does not prevent you from being able to take a course again for a ticket in the future.
If you select "Insurance Discount" as your reason for attending the course, a certificate of completion will be sent to you after you have successfully completed the course. You should present this certificate to your automobile insurance provider if they offer a defensive driving discount.
Note: The insurance only certificate of completion that you receive by choosing this option will not be accepted by a court for a ticket.
